Nurse’s Assistant (LVN/LPN)

Location: Pleasant Grove Independent School District, Margaret Fischer Davis Elementary School, Texarkana, Texas

Starting Date: Aug 3, 2026

Position Type: Full‑time

Schedule: 7.5 hours per day for 10 months

Job Description

The position provides full-time Nurse’s Assistant (LVN/LPN) support within Pleasant Grove Independent School District.

Job Requirements
  • High school graduate or hold a GED certificate.
  • At least three years of experience as an Educational Aide I or II.
  • Minimum of 30 semester hours of college credit with emphasis on child growth and development or related areas.
  • Experience related to working with students or parents as approved by the employing Superintendent.
  • Maintain the following certifications: CPR/First Aid, Spinal Screenings, Visual/Hearing Screenings.
  • Recommended by the employing Superintendent.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, abilities, and a positive and cooperative attitude toward duties of the nurse’s assistant, the school, staff, and students.
    • Basic Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the school nurse in implementing the school health program in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines interpreted by the local school board.
  • Receive and administer medications in accordance with district policies and regulations.
  • Administer first aid treatment in accordance with district policies and regulations.
  • Assist the nurse in conducting vision and hearing screenings.
  • Maintain accurate health records for the assigned campus.
  • Respect the confidentiality of instructional personnel, administration, students, and student health records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
