Educational Aide
This position will provide a full-time Educational Aide for Pleasant Grove Independent School District.
This employee must:
- be a high school graduate or hold a GED certificate;
- have two years of experience as an Educational Aide; or
- a minimum of 15 semester hours of college credit with some emphasis on child growth and development or similar background; or
- have demonstrated proficiency in a specialized skill area as determined by the local school district;
- have experience related to working with students or parents as approved by the employing Superintendent; and
- be recommended by the employing Superintendent.
The aide shall have knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes of the following nature: ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to communicate and work with students, teachers, school administrators and the public; to maintain records; to maintain effective working relationship with other auxiliary personnel, teachers, school administrators, and the public; and have a positive and cooperative attitude toward the duties of the aide, the school, the staff, and the students.
_______________ is presently employed in the above described position. Pay scale and classification will not be less than the minimum compensation plan for Pleasant Grove Independent School District. _______________ will be under the direction of building principals and the Superintendent of Schools.
Basic
Duties and Responsibilities:
The employee shall:
- serve as instructional aide.
- assist teacher in the instructional process.
- work with the administration and carry out such duties and responsibilities as policies would demand in relation to students, teachers, school administrators, and the public.
- carry out such duties and responsibilities as clerical operations; maintaining records; operating copy machines; and other similar tasks.
- participate in staff development as assigned.
- respect the confidence of instructional personnel and the administration.
- assist the teacher in instructional media preparation and usage.
- assist the teacher in preparing classroom materials to be sent home with students.
- grade papers, record grades, and file papers.
