As a Controls Engineer at our Texarkana facility, you will be the primary technical resource for maintaining, optimizing, and evolving the automated systems that drive our production lines. This role exists to ensure our machinery runs reliably, efficiently, and safely. You will work directly on the plant floor, bridging the gap between high-level engineering designs and daily operational execution. In the first 90 days: You will gain a deep understanding of our current automation architecture by working alongside maintenance teams and documenting existing control logic. You will begin diagnosing recurring equipment issues and implementing reliable fixes to improve line uptime.

Over the long term: You will lead small-scale improvement projects that enhance machine throughput and reduce material scrap. You will become the go-to expert for programming and troubleshooting PLC-based systems and will play a critical role in integrating new automation technology to modernize our facility.

• Design, program, and troubleshoot automated control systems to support continuous manufacturing operations.
• Analyze root causes of equipment downtime and implement sustainable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with maintenance personnel and contractors to execute upgrades and repairs.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for all automated systems.
• Support SCADA and integrated automation initiatives to improve system visibility and data collection.
• Ensure all engineering designs and modifications adhere to safety and quality standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field (Electrical, Computer, or Automation focus preferred).
• At least 2 years of professional experience in an engineering role.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming and automated control systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and comfort working in an industrial shop environment.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience working with SCADA systems.
• Background in high-volume manufacturing or industrial production environments.
• Experience managing small-scope technical or capital projects.
• Track record of improving production throughput or minimizing operational waste.
