One of our clients is hiring a Medical Staff Coordinator responsible for coordinating physician and allied health professional credentialing and privileging processes. This role ensures accurate verification, documentation, and maintenance of medical staff records while serving as a liaison between providers and administration.
About the RoleThis position supports the Credentials Verification Office (CVO) by managing credentialing workflows, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring timely processing of applications, reappointments, and privilege modifications. The Medical Staff Coordinator also provides administrative and secretarial support to the medical staff and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate medical staff and allied health professional credentialing and privileging
- Process applications, reappointments, privilege changes, and status updates
- Maintain credential files, including licensure, liability insurance, and board certification
- Ensure credentialing software systems are updated and accurate
- Prepare credentialing reports as requested
- Prioritize workflow and monitor Credentialing Specialist performance
- Expedite verification processes to meet compliance timelines
- Track and maintain current provider documentation
- Serve as liaison for medical staff verification requests
- Handle telephone and written verification inquiries
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to medical staff
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all credentialing activities
- Ensure compliance with credentialing standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of provider records
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of credentialing or healthcare administrative experience preferred
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification required within 2 years of hire
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Experience working with credentialing software systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM - Full-time administrative role within healthcare operations
- Key contributor to provider compliance and credential integrity
- Collaborative environment supporting physicians and allied health professionals
