Job Scope
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a scientific peer and primary conduit between Bausch Health and the healthcare community and Key Medical Experts (KMEs), collaborating cross-functionally to deliver external insights that inform strategy.
Responsibilities- Cultivate and maintain long‑term peer‑to‑peer scientific partnerships with KMEs and healthcare decision‑makers in the territory.
- Deliver evidence‑based clinical presentations and lead deep‑dive scientific discussions on disease states and therapeutic pipelines.
- Represent the organization at major medical/scientific congresses and synthesize emerging clinical breakthroughs.
- Collect and communicate “voice of the customer” insights on treatment patterns and unmet needs.
- Partner with Clinical Operations to support trial site selection, patient recruitment, and Investigator‑Initiated Trials (IITs).
- Identify opportunities for real‑world evidence (RWE) to demonstrate therapy value.
- Provide therapeutic area expertise and clinical briefings to Market Access and Commercial teams.
- Serve as primary field‑based medical strategic lead; translate global medical plans into local tactics.
- Provide real‑time competitive intelligence and medical insights to refine brand territory strategies.
- Support product launch readiness (disease‑state priming and addressing clinical knowledge gaps 24 months prior to approval).
- Develop and execute a Territory Engagement Plan using data analytics/CRM.
- Use omnichannel engagement (virtual platforms and social listening) alongside face‑to‑face interactions.
- Ensure activities adhere to applicable compliance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) highly preferred.
- 3–5 years MSL experience preferred.
- Established relationships with Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology KMEs desired.
- Knowledge of FDA requirements related to MSLs.
- Demonstrated drug information communication, project management, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
- Strong relationship‑building and administrative management skills; team‑oriented.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
