Duties
* Serves as a Lead Police Officer Red River Army Depot, Directorate of Emergency Services, Police Division.
* Performs control desk duties which include providing directions to officers on various patrols and shifts.
* Coordinating emergency responses between local officers, fire, and other emergency units.
* Receiving and acting on calls concerning reports of violations or complaints.
* Distributes and balances the workload, assures the timely accomplishment of security and related inspection work.
* Responds to, investigates, and resolves most emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service, independently with little supervision. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
* This position requires incumbent to pass the physical agility test IAW Army Regulation 190-56 upon hire within 30 days, and annually thereafter.
* This position requires that the incumbent has graduated from an U. S. Army USAMPS or receive an initial training waiver or be excepted per para 4-4 of the Army Regulation 190-56.

* This position requires submission to a random urinalysis drug screening as well as pre-employment.
* This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
* This position requires the wear of personal protective equipment, to include Chemical protective equipment (gloves, masks, air purifying respirators (APR) and other associated equipment) IAW AR 50-6 Army Chemical Surety Program.
* Incumbent must wear uniform and maintain high state of appearance and hygiene (Local SOP and IAW AR 190-56).
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
* This position has been designated "Mission Essential" and subject to 24-hour recall.
* This position is an Inclement Weather Essential position.
* This position authorizes the incumbent to carry a firearm. Must be proficient in the use of and qualify annually with assigned duty weapons. This position requires the passing of a semi-annual weapons qualification test.
* This position requires incumbent to complete and pass initial and annual Law Enforcement training and re-certification.
* IAW AR 190-56 this position is covered by the Individual Reliability Program (IRP), and has been designated by Department of Army as critical to the national or internal security. Personnel must meet the standards for the IRP.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
* This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid training within 90 days of hire and maintain certification for the duration of employment.
* Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
* This position requires persons to carry a firearm, which requires initial and periodic qualification and meet the requirements under 18 USC 922(g)(9) of The Lautenberg Amendment. Qualifications Who May Apply:
