Job Overview
Maintain, troubleshoot, and test electrical lines and circuits; overhaul distribution boxes, motor controls, lighting, fans, and receptacles. Install wire mold, raceways, and conduit in shelters and vans.
Responsibilities- Install and test a variety of electrical lines and circuits to components, devices, and fixtures in military shelters and vans (e.g., distribution boxes, monitoring panels, relays, switches, lighting, fans, receptacles).
- Install wire mold, raceways, conduits, and fittings; replace or install wires by pulling through conduit and connecting to fixtures.
- Disassemble, repair, troubleshoot, and replace wire mold, wires, and electrical components and devices.
- Build or fabricate and wire phase meter boxes, power distribution boxes, and other meter boxes as needed.
- Perform disassembly and assembly in shelters and vans, including removal and installation of radio equipment, teletype equipment, racks, raceways, lights, and cables.
- Participate as a team member in repair and installation of equipment both in‑house and on TDY assignments.
- Perform all other position‑related duties as assigned or requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the repair of electrical systems.
- Licensed as a Journeyman Electrician or military equivalent.
- Extensive knowledge of engine electrical/indicating systems and ability to interpret schematic diagrams, drawings, and charts for fault isolation and repair.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electro‑mechanical components on engines; prior experience on assigned engines highly desired.
- Must possess planning/organizing skills and ability to work under deadlines.
- Willing to work night shifts, weekends, and other hours as needed.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Valid and current state driver’s license.
- Must be able to read and use Technical Manuals.
- Ability to complete paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and a government background check.
- Must obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization; US citizenship required for facility credentials.
- Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check within 60 days of hire if required.
- Must be available for any shift.
Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards. Frequent lifting to 20–50 pounds, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting, and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication. Routine mental alertness required, and planning/organizing skills needed to meet deadlines.
CompensationHourly rate: $28.36 (estimate; actual may vary based on responsibilities, experience, and market data).
