Overview
GENERAL
JOB SUMMARY:
The Plumber, Maintenance shall be responsible for performing routine maintenance and service repairs on plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, water filters, water fountains and hot water tanks. The Plumber, Maintenance shall also be responsible for the installation of new fixtures/equipment or replacement parts for existing fixtures/equipment according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, service, and repair of plumbing fixtures and drainage systems.
- Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.
- Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures and equipment by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending pipes, and opening clogged drains.
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand tools and power tools.
- Join pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk.
- Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area, shop, and company vehicles.
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in performing maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing fixtures and equipment.
- A Texas State Plumbing license is preferred.
- Must be able to perform simple tasks independently after given specific instructions.
- Must be able to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams.
- Must have a working knowledge and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations.
