Position: Security Assistant with Security Clearance
Duties
* Perform various tasks associated with the pass system.
* Prepare, issue, and maintain control and accountability of pass requests for temporary and permanent military and civilian personnel, official visitors, and contractor employees.
* Conduct pass procedure inspections at Red River Army Depot.
* Provide information, direct calls or visitors to other organizations according to information/action desired, exercising tact, courtesy, alertness and good judgment in carrying out public contacts.
* Operate an electronic typewriter, word processor, microcomputer, or computer terminal, using standard typewriter style keyboard with additional function keys, to prepare a variety of narrative and tabular material from rough draft. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
* This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes
1) Providing customer service support to personnel accessing depot;
2) Maintaining files of issued property for monthly reporting; and
3) Utilizing office automation systems for creating correspondences, reports, documents, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR

Education:

Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of

Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

Required:

This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Education FOREIGN

EDUCATION:

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
