Job Description
Responsible for providing a variety of administrative support duties to ensure the success of planning, organizing, and executing day‑to‑day program services of Upward Bound.
Required Qualifications- Associate Degree in Business Administration or similar degree, certificate, or equivalent experience, including a minimum of two years of applicable experience.
- Knowledge of secondary and postsecondary education settings.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Budget management experience.
- Proficiency with computer applications involving design and management of databases and spreadsheets for development and submission of special reports.
- Detail oriented record‑keeping practices.
- Application of regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Operation of standard office equipment.
- Highly organized.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Foster a cooperative and collaborative work environment.
- Experience with TRiO background and/or experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Event/activity planning skills.
- Performs specialized administrative support to the Director related to the planning, organizing, and coordination of program activities.
- Enters, reviews, and retrieves data and prepares reports using computer software.
- Handles confidential information appropriately and exercises care in safeguarding information.
- Serves as a liaison between students, staff, the community, and the College concerning the program and its activities.
- Identifies students’ needs prior to directing them to the appropriate faculty or staff member.
- Supports students by promoting enjoyment of their interactions with the College and its employees.
- Arranges meetings and appointments by securing and reserving rooms with notifications and courtesy reminders; coordinates meal and lodging reservations and deposits.
- Assists Director and/or other departmental staff in accounting for program funds, performance standards, as well as preparing financial requisitions, and providing general office support.
- Attends various virtual trainings/webinars regarding TRIO programs policies, including Evaluation, Recordkeeping and Reporting Student/Project Performance and Budget Management, and Statutory/Regulatory Requirements, as well as any additional training provided by the College.
The position requires lifting 15 pounds, the ability to push a cart, and assist with event set‑up.
