Job Summary

This role supports the operations of the District Archives and Data Governance Program. This role preserves, processes, and promotes physical and digital materials to support research, teaching, and public engagement—including outreach, exhibits, and institutional history initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*

  • Preserves and promotes archival records and special collections for research, teaching, and learning
  • Schedules and supports archive transfers to/from the College facilities
  • Evaluates incoming archival materials for preservation, storage, and final disposition needs, including processing, arranging, describing, creating metadata, and finding aids
  • Maintains computerized inventories of archival collections, including permanent documentation of all transactions (i.e., arrivals, transfers, disposals)
  • Assists in reviewing and updating departmental procedures and publications, including the knowledge base
  • Aids in planning and conducting outreach, workshops, and educational programming for the College community
  • Supports digital preservation activities, including acquisition, storage, and preservation of electronic records, and contributes to the development of data standards, policies, definitions, and stewardship practices
  • Assists in acquisitions and collection development, including donor relations, appraisal, intake, and occasional travel for materials gathering
  • Stays current on and promotes the use and adoption of data governance, records management, and archival best practices
Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the work site
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision

Works under the general supervision of the assigned department leader

* Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements, or any equivalent combination of education and work‑related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Records and Information Management or Library Science

  • Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, scanning, and presentation software
