Preferred Education / Training / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with one (1) year of direct experience working in recruitment, advising, high school relations, admissions, records or outreach in a college or university setting.
  • Knowledge of student characteristics, campus/college programs, and services available to special populations.
  • Knowledge of Meta Majors, Dual Credit, Continuing Education, and Adult Basic Education programs.
  • Skill in using a personal computer and associated software programs.
  • Strong communication and team‑building skills across all areas of the college; ability to prepare and present programs to groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to meet work schedules, work independently, follow established procedures and regulations, and use discretion and judgment.
  • Ability to represent the college effectively in various district and community settings.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and the public.
  • Proficiency in online student records management systems (e.g., Colleague, NAVIGATE).
  • Ability to interpret and articulate assessment/test results for appropriate Pathway placement.
  • Capacity to multi‑task and work under high stress and volume during peak periods.

Job Duties

  • Provide advising to students and groups from connection to entry and introduce career/pathway exploration including Meta Majors.
  • Offer referral services for students.
  • Represent the college in recruitment and community outreach events (e.g., College Connection, TACRAO).
  • Introduce students to the college’s academic programs (Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Arts in Teaching, Associates of Applied Science, certificates, Dual Credit, Continuing Education, Adult Basic Education).
  • Provide enrollment coaching to traditional and non‑traditional student populations, assisting with admissions, financial aid, and scholarship applications.
  • Compile and analyze data to inform strategic direction and enrollment actions.
  • Support daily operational duties related to student success and enrollment initiatives.
  • Lead special projects supporting student success.
  • Provide outreach, recruitment, and onboarding services, including financial aid and scholarship guidance.
  • Communicate internally and externally via e‑mail, phone, chat, face‑to‑face, direct mail, and web with students, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and interpret high school and college transcripts and test scores; may proctor assessment exams.
  • Serve as an official liaison between students, staff, faculty, and administrators, coordinating services and streamlining processes.
  • Supervise work‑study students and assist in training new employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Work primarily in an office environment with minimal exposure to hazardous conditions; occasional off‑site work at high schools and other learning locations.
  • Minimal supervision exercised.
  • Physical demands include sitting or standing for extended periods, with occasional stooping, lifting, or carrying lightweight objects.
  • Some positions may be security sensitive, subject to Texas Education Code provisions.

Salary Range

Minimum: $47,781;
Mid Point: .;
Maximum: $59,726
