PT TRiO Upward Bound Tutor/Mentor
TRiO Upward Bound Tutors provide tutoring, mentoring, and general assistance to participants. COMUB is a federally funded four year college preparation program serving 70 potential first generation college students with financial need from the following high schools:
La Marque HS, Texas City HS, Hitchcock HS, Dickinson HS. UB Tutors must be flexible and may travel to/from COM to partnering high schools and may work evenings and/or select Saturdays.

Minimum Education /Training/Experience
- Completion of 30 credit hours (college sophomore) 3.0 GPA Minimum grade of 'B' in core tutoring subject(s)
Preferred Education/Training/Experience - TRiO, AVID, GEARUP Majors:
Education, Math, Science, English Tutoring high school students Student and/or substitute teaching Coaching teenagers Dual Credit/Advanced Placement ECHS Apply Texas Financial Aid/FAFSA/SAT/SIA 2.0 TI-Nspire™/ TI-84 graphing calculators
Minimum Knowledge & Skills
- Office 365 Knowledge of Pre-Algebra through Pre Calculus (for math tutoring) Confidentiality
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Math including College Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus Bilingual in Spanish
Licensing/Certification Requirements - N/A
Job Duties
- Provide tutoring, mentoring, and assistance to participants on and off campus Communicate updates and concerns to Advisor/Director Encourage and remind participants of upcoming tasks, deadlines, and events Assist with Saturday Academies on and off campus Ensure a safe learning environment for participants and maintain confidentiality of student records Other duties as needed

Minimum Salary Range - $13.52/hour
Mid Point Salary Range - $13.52/hour
