Salary Range

Associates/Bachelors: $41,820 – $57,932
Masters: $52,514 – $66,132
Doctorate: $61,247 – $77,482

Responsibilities

Prepare, develop, and revise curriculum, syllabi, class schedules, and other course‑related materials. Conduct classes as scheduled.

Maintain timely and professional communication with students, faculty, administration, and staff. Assess student work and issue grades promptly.

Hold office hours for student consultation and advising.

Serve on committees, councils, and governing groups as needed; participate in professional development activities and student recruitment and advisement programs.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum:
Associate’s of Applied Science Degree in Health Information Management and at least 3 years of experience.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s of Science in Health Information Management.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills

Principles and practices of teaching
Training techniques
Detailed knowledge of material taught in the specific course and program area
Knowledge of student engagement techniques
Record keeping procedures
Communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with students, coworkers, supervisors, and the general public

Licensing / Certification Requirements

Must hold an AHIMA credential: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, etc.

Physical Requirements

Usual environment involves indoor classroom, skills lab, office, and travel to clinical assignments. Occasional irregular hours or weekend work. Clinical shifts of up to 12 hours.
Physical demands: stoop, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, assist in patient care or clinical teaching; occasional two‑person patient lifting.
Possible exposure to communicable diseases in clinical teaching; drug screening may be required for some clinical agencies.
