Salary Range

  • Associates/Bachelors: $41,820 – $57,932
  • Masters: $52,514 – $66,132
  • Doctorate: $61,247 – $77,482
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, develop, and revise curriculum, syllabi, class schedules, and other course‑related materials. Conduct classes as scheduled.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with students, faculty, administration, and staff. Assess student work and issue grades promptly.
  • Hold office hours for student consultation and advising.
  • Serve on committees, councils, and governing groups as needed; participate in professional development activities and student recruitment and advisement programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Required Qualifications
    • Minimum:
      Associate’s of Applied Science Degree in Health Information Management and at least 3 years of experience.
    • Preferred:
      Bachelor’s of Science in Health Information Management.
    Preferred Knowledge & Skills
    • Principles and practices of teaching
    • Training techniques
    • Detailed knowledge of material taught in the specific course and program area
    • Knowledge of student engagement techniques
    • Record keeping procedures
    • Communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with students, coworkers, supervisors, and the general public
    Licensing / Certification Requirements
    • Must hold an AHIMA credential: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, etc.
    Physical Requirements
    • Usual environment involves indoor classroom, skills lab, office, and travel to clinical assignments. Occasional irregular hours or weekend work. Clinical shifts of up to 12 hours.
    • Physical demands: stoop, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, assist in patient care or clinical teaching; occasional two‑person patient lifting.
    • Possible exposure to communicable diseases in clinical teaching; drug screening may be required for some clinical agencies.
