Associate’s degree or higher in a qualifying field with three (3) years of work experience in the industry. CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification.
Preferred:
Associate’s degree or higher with five (5) years of work experience in the industry and 1-2 years teaching experience in an Allied Health environment.
Familiar with medical assistant curriculum through previous experience or education; previous instruction in educational theory or techniques; principles and practices of teaching; training techniques; detailed knowledge of material; knowledge of student engagement techniques; record‑keeping procedures; communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Knowledge & SkillsPrevious experience teaching within a community college environment.
Job Duties- Responsible for practicum coordination.
- Develop and evaluate curriculum and coursework.
- Meet classes as scheduled; participate in student advisement.
- Maintain office hours for student consultation.
- Select and approve appropriate practicum sites.
- Conduct on‑site assessment of student practicum experiences and quality of learning opportunities at least once during each term.
- Serve on committees as appropriate.
- Provide counseling to students as needed.
- Participate in student recruitment.
- Engage in continuous professional development related to roles and responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Credentialed Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from a nationally accredited credentialing organization.
Physical RequirementsIndoors; classroom and office environment. May require irregular hours to meet student needs. Must be able to travel, sit for extended periods, work at a computer, communicate verbally, use the telephone, get around campus, function at night, and engage in normal bending, stooping, and lifting associated with any office job.
