Director Student Engagement & Activities

The Director of Student Engagement & Activities is responsible for fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus community by developing and implementing innovative programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience. This role involves overseeing a wide range of student activities, including clubs, organizations, and special events. The director will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to create a dynamic campus culture that promotes student success, leadership development, and personal growth.

Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field and three or more years of experience managing student activities in higher education.

Preferred:
Experience managing student activities and engagement programs;
Master’s Degree in Education or related fields.

• Supervise staff and organizational advisors, including prioritizing work, performing performance evaluations, ensuring staff training, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Provide annual office goals consistent with College strategic goals.
• Coordinate all student events, workshops, and legislatively mandated programming (e.g., Alcohol and Drug Awareness, Constitution Day). Ensure data‑driven student needs are met and collaborate with Student Resources, Enrollment Management, instructional divisions, and other departments that support student success.
• Develop and implement student engagement opportunities annually for the student body; administer student activities fees; oversee weekly events, legislatively mandated programming, multicultural events, clubs, organizations, and the Student Government Association.
• Provide oversight and evaluation for gym facilities, club sports, and recreational sports events. Manage the budget for all recreational sports events and the gym facility. Hire, schedule, and supervise staffing for these areas and events such as Sports Day and Beach Day.
• Design and deliver leadership training and co‑curricular opportunities for student leaders and the student body.
• Manage budgets, expense and revenue reports; collect data for office activities, analyze, and revise programs when indicated.
• Serve on college‑wide committees representing student services and the needs of the student population on campus, at COM sites, and within the COM service area.
• Design training curriculum, recruit, and support Student Club Advisors.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

• Ability to lift no more than 50 pounds at a time; frequent lifting or carrying of objects up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work beyond normal office hours and on weekends.
• Work outdoors as required.

Minimum: $58,886 – Maximum: $79,496. Salary range commensurate with qualifications and experience.
