Position Summary
The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated project schedules for large‑scale data center construction projects. This role ensures alignment across construction and commissioning activities, enabling predictable project delivery, risk mitigation, and optimized resource utilization. The Planner/Scheduler plays a critical role in supporting fast‑track, multi‑phase builds typical of mission‑critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & SchedulingDevelop and maintain detailed resource‑loaded Level 3–5 schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent.
- Civil, structural, architectural
- MEP systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing)
- Equipment installation (generators, UPS, switch gear, chillers)
- Commissioning & turnover sequences
Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with project execution strategy.
Support performance of Schedule‑Cost Monte Carlo Analysis.
Data Center‑Specific SequencingDevelop schedules aligned with critical path for energization and commissioning

- Medium voltage distribution
- Backup power systems (generators, fuel systems)
- Cooling systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units)
- Integrate phased turnover / partial energization milestones
Maintain schedule updates with input from field teams, subcontractors, and engineering.
Perform critical path analysis, float analysis, and schedule risk assessments

- Weekly look‑aheads (2–6 week)
- Monthly progress updates
- Executive schedule dashboards
- Track progress against baseline and identify variances
- Perform site inspections to check and confirm progress reported
Interface with: construction managers and superintendents; engineering teams; procurement and logistics; subcontractors and vendors.
Facilitate schedule review meetings and pull planning sessions.
Risk & Change ManagementIdentify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Support delay analysis and time impact analysis (TIA).
Maintain change logs and incorporate approved changes into schedule updates.
Resource & Productivity PlanningAssist with resource loading (labor, equipment, materials).
Support productivity tracking and forecasting.
Align schedule with site logistics and labor availability (“labor shed” considerations).
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of scheduling experience in construction (data center, industrial, or power preferred)
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 (required)
- Microsoft Project (preferred)
- Excel (advanced level)
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, MEP systems, and commissioning processes
- Experience supporting fast‑track or mission‑critical projects
- Experience on hyperscale or colocation data center projects
- Familiarity with commissioning standards (IST, FAT, SAT, Level 1–5 commissioning)
- Knowledge of earned value management (EVM)
- Experience with 4D scheduling / BIM integration (Navisworks, Synchro)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination
- Detail‑oriented with a proactive mindset
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Primavera P6
- Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas)
- Excel or Power App or similar analytical tools (preferred)
- Power BI or similar reporting tools (preferred)
- Procore / Autodesk Build (preferred)
- Navisworks / Synchro (preferred)
