Job Summary

ISP Technologies Inc., operating as Ashland, is seeking an Electrical, Instrumentation and Mechanical Maintenance Planner for our Texas City, Texas plant.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed job plans for electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical maintenance activities, including scope, labor, materials, tools, and permits.
  • Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work using the site’s computerized maintenance management system (e.g., Maximo).
  • Review work requests to ensure work orders are properly scoped, prioritized, and ready for execution.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisors, Operations, and Engineering to align schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly and daily maintenance schedules for I&E technical and mechanical work.
  • Identify required spare parts and materials, verify availability, and coordinate procurement as needed.
  • Support maintenance execution during shutdowns, turnarounds, commissioning, and start‑up activities.
  • Ensure all maintenance plans comply with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate job plans, equipment history, and maintenance records within the maintenance database system.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities for rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, gearboxes, agitators, and mixers.
  • Develop job plans for mechanical maintenance activities such as alignment, balancing, lubrication, seal replacement, and bearing inspections.
  • Support troubleshooting of mechanical and rotating equipment failures to reduce recurring issues and downtime.
  • Coordinate condition monitoring activities such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, and thermography.
  • Interface with mechanical contractors, vibration vendors, and OEMs for specialized repairs and inspections.
  • Support mechanical work execution during turnarounds and major maintenance events.
  • Actively contribute to organizational goals by taking initiative, executing goals, and focusing on performance and safety.
  • Improve the organization’s capacity and capabilities through collaborative relationships and effective communication.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of field experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical power distribution, MCCs, motors, drives, PLCs, DCS, and industrial instrumentation.
  • Hands‑on experience troubleshooting I&E equipment.
  • Solid knowledge of rotating equipment and mechanical maintenance practices.
  • Experience using maintenance management database systems, preferably Maximo.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, loop diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Well versed in maintenance and reliability planning, troubleshooting and problem‑solving techniques, mechanical standards, budgeting process, and cost control.
  • Ability to respond appropriately during site emergencies and evacuate manufacturing process areas.
  • Capability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Physical ability to walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel, lift 25 lbs., and reach as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and authorized to work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting maintenance planning for pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
  • Basic mechanical maintenance background.
  • Previous roles in chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing facilities.
  • Familiarity with reliability tools such as RCA, FMEA, and condition‑based maintenance.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards, codes, and regulations (NFPA, OSHA).
