SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, plans, develops, coordinates and directs all phases of medium to large‑scale, high‑profile construction projects. Coordinates with internal and external organizations and government agencies to successfully implement project delivery. Assists with implementing the Construction Management Process (CMP) used throughout the company. Responsible for project scope, cost, and schedule and coordination and management of project requirements to ensure labor and material resources (internal & external) are deployed for timeliness, efficiency and success of project delivery.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Assists with developing, instituting, and improving cross‑functional processes and procedures regarding project management, work management, and cost estimating.
- Integrates corporate initiatives such as safety, environmental, reliability improvement programs into the corporate CMP process and procedures for large electric construction projects.
- Affirms the project delivery of large‑scale construction projects; leads internal and external meetings.
- Identifies, assesses, and implements corporate programs related to project management, cost estimation, planning and scheduling, including software and other tools.
- Forecasts, documents, verifies, and reports all variances to management.
- Compiles, charts, and reports weekly, monthly, and yearly Project Management Performance Measures to management.
- Works with management to define, coordinate, and manage project requirements to ensure labor and material resources are deployed for timeliness, efficiency, and success of project delivery.
- Conducts project performance, cost, scheduling studies, and evaluations that require advanced and innovative project management techniques or modifications of standard practices and concepts.
- May be required to work on special projects and other assigned duties.
- Maintains positive and productive working relationships with various individuals and groups.
- Manages diverse, technical, and complex issues.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of project management, work management, and cost estimating principles.

Ability to coordinate and supervise activities over internal and external staff assigned to projects in a matrix management environment.

- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to effectively listen and get clarification to respond to a wide‑range of questions.
- Works with concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
- Applies the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Strong understanding and ability to effectively utilize project management, cost‑estimating, and work management software.
- Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
Applies, interprets, and develops concepts using mathematical and engineering expertise. Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Identifies if a project is off track and develops corrective actions to bring the project back in line with schedule and budget.
Decision MakingAdapts easily and deals with changing priorities. Assists with determining the corporate framework for resource allocation used in projects.
