Salary Grade: G06 – Minimum $82,463, Midpoint $111,325, Maximum $140,187.
Summary:
Under general supervision plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates the engineering work for moderate‑scope projects or detailed phases of larger projects.
Personnel in this job title may be covered by NERC CIP cyber‑security standards. Candidates must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (identity verification, criminal background check) and complete annual cyber‑security training.
Given the financial nature of the position, a credit background check may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage all engineering aspects of moderate‑scope projects or detailed phases of major projects.
- Lead or conduct performance, cost, and scheduling studies of varying size that are generally conventional in nature.
- Support operational areas through the application of standard and non‑standard engineering techniques, practices, and procedures.
- Communicate engineering ideas, recommendations, and evaluations to diverse internal groups in working or conference settings.
- Represent the company's interests in engineering matters that may be varied and complex.
- Interact with and provide broad‑knowledge technical support to other associates.
- Apply engineering expertise to improve or develop new standards.
- Provide technical direction and/or activity supervision to contractors and company personnel on a regular, ongoing basis.
- Broad knowledge and proven ability to apply engineering principles, practices, and regulations; perform economic and decision‑analysis studies in areas such as generation, transmission, distribution, system planning, financial and regulatory issues, asset utilization, and environmental controls.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply national, state, and local codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, ACI, AISC, ASME, NACE, etc.).
- Ability to translate electrical theory and physics to utility application to improve system reliability.
- Ability to make informed repair decisions following company protocols.
- Comfortable working in and around high voltage (up to 345 kV) electrical facilities and equipment.
- Ability to forecast budgets.
- Demonstrated leadership, self‑motivation, and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program and four or more years of engineering experience

* * three or more with a Fundamentals of Engineering certificate
** or
* * three or more with a Master’s Degree in Engineering. - Fundamentals of Engineering certificate preferred.
- Current, legally valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Read and interpret documents.
- Write routine reports, correspondence, speeches, and presentations.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, and managers.
- In‑depth knowledge of personal computers, including proficiency with electrical engineering design programs.
- In‑depth knowledge of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.
- Apply common sense to carry out complex instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Handle complex problems involving several variables in complicated situations.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and exposure to outside elements; lift up to 50 lb; crouch, bend, climb, and work at various heights.
- Protective equipment required: hard‑hat, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Time divided between office and field; majority of time in the office; work around high‑voltage facilities, computers, office equipment, and construction equipment.
Salary Grade: G07 – Minimum $73,060, Midpoint $96,804, Maximum $120,548.
