Overview

DST Engineers is seeking a highly experienced Senior / Lead Transmission Engineer to support and lead utility, renewable energy, and power delivery projects across North America.

Experience Required
  • 7+ years of transmission line engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and utility projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Lead transmission line engineering and design for overhead and underground transmission systems ranging from sub‑transmission through EHV facilities.
    • Perform and oversee engineering calculations, including sag and tension analysis, structure loading analysis, clearance verification, conductor and shield wire selection, and foundation loading assessments.
    • Review and approve engineering deliverables prepared by engineering staff.
    • Ensure compliance with utility standards, NESC requirements, and client specifications.
  • Project Management:
    • Serve as Engineering Lead for transmission projects and programs.
    • Manage project schedules, budgets, resource planning, and technical execution.
    • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, survey, geotechnical, environmental, and permitting personnel.
    • Support project execution from conceptual design through detailed engineering and construction support.
  • Client & Business Development Support:
    • Interface directly with utility clients, developers, EPC contractors, and project stakeholders.
    • Support proposal development, technical scoping, and project planning activities.
    • Participate in business development and client relationship management efforts.
  • Team Development:
    • Mentor and train junior and mid‑level engineers.
    • Drive engineering best practices, quality initiatives, and design standardization efforts.
    • Participate in QA/QC reviews and continuous improvement programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of NESC requirements, utility transmission design standards, structural loading principles, and power delivery engineering practices.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Grid modernization, reliability, and resilience initiatives.
