Corrosion Engineer tojoin the Technical Support team.

The technical support team is a multi-disciplinary organization withan interface to technical, and in some cases business, support requirements for our Global Manufacturing Admin Area. Its function caters mainly tothe technical needs of GM Operating facilities.

Your primary role will be to provide technical support to operating facilities, projects, technology deployment, and talent development ofnew corrosion engineers. You will also conduct special studies and analysis in a specialized corrosion control field, such as cathodic protection, water treatment, chemical inhibition or materials selection.
Additionally, you will provide specialized technical corrosion control services and consultation.

Responsibilities:

• Implement a corrosion management program and on-stream monitoring.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support for running HC facilities
• Conduct risk-based inspection based on API-580 methodology.
• Review and approve recommended solutions for coating failures and
  cathodic protection.
• Participate in HAZOP review sessions and ensure that all issues are addressed.
• Manage water treatment programs and recommend solutions to overcome
  challenges.
• Review design packages and validate materials selection based on current
  code and standards.
• Validate corrosion controls, corrosion loops and corrosion damage
  mechanisms frequently.
• Assess feed composition changes and approve recommended solutions to
  assure assets integrity.
• Develop scope and description of technology items, and lead field
  implementation.
• Develop and transfer knowledge about the use of coating, CP, corrosion
  inhibitors and other corrosion controls and best practices.

Must-Haves:

• Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering
  .
• You should 12+ years of experience, preferably 15+ years, in processing in Oil/Gas industry, materialscience and metrology, different NDT technology and their applications and knowledge in the engineering aspect of welding.
• International standards and codes NACE, ASME, API andASTM especially inspection and corrosion standards such as API-571, API-580, API-570 and API-510 are required.
• Valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist,API-571 and NACE CP level II.
