Job Summary
The Field Safety Specialist will spend up to 80% of their time in the field and is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and administration of safety policies and programs at the site that minimize the adverse effects of accidental losses through incident prevention, ensuring alignment and support with business strategies and objectives.

Responsibilities- Accountability 1 – Safety Programs: Adhere to the INEOS 20 principles of process and behavioral safety and life-saving rules. Facilitate the INEOS Acetyls Behavioral Based Safety Program. Administer SHE programs including fire extinguisher inspection, SCBA inspection, and fall protection inspection and testing. Provide daily interface for work permitting issues and safety-related questions. Develop, maintain and communicate site safety, health, and emergency procedures.
Perform or coordinate regular safety audits of equipment and facilities. Provide oversight of contractor safety program and ensure compliance with respiratory and fall protection. Develop and submit routine safety reports to site management. - Accountability 2 – Safety Inspections: Conduct annual fire extinguisher inspections, safety shower inspections, and perform minor repairs. Inspect fall protection equipment and program annually.
- Accountability 3 – Emergency Response: Respond to plant emergencies and workplace accidents. Report and investigate incidents promptly and serve as plant resource for cause analysis.
- Accountability 4 – Site Maintenance: Test workplaces for hazards and improve conditions. Collaborate with site business functions and Safety & Health team on best practices. Implement and administer legally compliant safety and health policies. Serve as resource for industrial safety practices and analysis. Contribute to budget development and manage personal safety expenditures.
- Education & Knowledge: 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
- Experience: 5+ years in chemical manufacturing; 2+ years in specialist safety or industrial hygiene role; or 3+ years in safety-relevant experience with progressing responsibility.
- Credentials: Must possess or obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card before first day of employment. Must have a current U.S. motor vehicle license. Legally authorized to work permanently in the United States (U.S. citizen or permanent resident).
- Technical
Skills:
Knowledge of safety and health processes, legislation, and standards. Ability to obtain Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician certification and Competent Person training for safety shower and fall protection. - Competencies & Behavioral
Skills:
Computer literacy (MS Office). Integrity, safety commitment, strong communication, teamwork, organization, time management, analytical thinking, problem solving, leadership, and excellent presentation skills.
