About you and this role:

We are seeking a Safety Compliance Lead to join our team in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations while fostering a strong culture of workplace safety.

In this role, you will monitor compliance requirements, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with teams to develop and implement safety protocols. Additionally, you will be involved in Dows Fort Saskatchewan Path2

Zero (P2Z) initiative, supporting our commitment to net-zero emissions and sustainable operations.

Responsibilities:

• Executes EH&S programs effectively by following structured processes, safety guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Ensures environmental, health, and safety standards are integrated into plant operations to achieve performance objectives.
• Acts as a resource for plant staff, providing EH&S-related insights, procedural knowledge, and compliance information.
• Serves as the designated contact for environmental and industrial hygiene concerns.
• Trains and supports teams in implementing EH&S protocols.
• Works towards achieving plant EH&S performance indicators and goals.
• Ensures completion of all necessary safety and regulatory compliance activities.
• Conducts environmental and industrial hygiene assessments, including monitoring, data analysis, and reporting.

• EH&S Expertise:
  Utilize in-depth knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety to effectively implement work processes and drive improvements through root cause analysis and timely follow-up actions.
• Task Management:
  Excel at organizing tasks, managing competing priorities, and setting expectations with stakeholders. Skilled in multitasking and time management.
• Managing Change:
  Take leadership roles in guiding and supporting the change management process for EH&S-related initiatives.
• Safety Oversight:
  Able to address safety concerns promptly, escalation unsafe situations, and mentor peers on maintaining safe work practices.
• Effective Communication:
  Mastery of professional communication, including written, spoken, visual, and digital formats within a workplace setting.

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) is required.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in EH&S, OH&S, or a similar field.
• Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Visa support is not available for this position.
