Assistant Controller / Site Accountant – Chemical Manufacturing

INEOS Acetyls is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller / Site Accountant to serve as a key financial partner for our Texas City manufacturing site. This role offers broad exposure to accounting, financial planning, cost management, operations support, and strategic decision‑making within a world‑class chemical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead site accounting activities including monthly close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance with IFRS and GAAP
  • Support annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long‑range financial planning processes
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, production performance, and operating expenses
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to improve business performance and drive cost optimization
  • Monitor site financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to leadership
  • Support capital project evaluations, financial modeling, and investment analysis
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and financial controls
  • Prepare and present financial reports, business analysis, and performance metrics to site leadership
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain strong compliance and control processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, streamline processes, and enhance financial visibility across the site
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, refining, or industrial experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and internal controls
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems preferred
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization
