Senior DevOps Engineer — AWS Cloud Healthcare

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join our Technology Platform team, dedicated to the Hospice business unit. You will own the AWS infrastructure for a recently migrated healthcare platform, driving stability, cost optimization, and modernization. This is a high‑impact role where you will shape the technical direction of a critical healthcare platform serving hospice patients across the United States.

• Own and manage the Hospice AWS infrastructure using Terraform (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Backup)
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications transitioning from legacy deployment processes
• Execute the cloud cost optimization roadmap: right‑sizing, savings plans, storage tiering
• Plan and lead the migration from EC2‑based workloads to modern architectures (EKS, Lambda, Step Functions)
• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability (Datadog, Cloud Watch)
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance and security best practices across all environments
• Mentor and upskill the Hospice application team on AWS operations and modern SDLC practices
• Collaborate with DBA team on the SQL Server EC2 to RDS migration
• Manage production patching, backup/DR, and incident response for the Hospice platform

• 8+ years of experience in Dev Ops, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
• Deep expertise with AWS services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Cloud Formation/Terraform)
• Strong Terraform experience (modules, state management, CI/CD integration)
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Cloud Watch, or similar)
• Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2)

• Experience with Windows Server and .NET application deployments
• Experience migrating legacy on‑premises workloads to AWS
• Experience with SQL Server administration or migration to RDS
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Dev Ops Engineer)
• Experience mentoring or leading small teams

Physical Requirements: The role requires working at a computer terminal with monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods, stooping, bending, reaching for equipment and supplies, performing frequent repetitive motions such as using a computer that involve wrists, hands and fingers, and lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and moving light objects up to 20 pounds. It also requires effective verbal communication, discernment of auditory information, and visual perception of details to perform essential job functions.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $165,000
