SQL DB Developer

Duration:
Long Term

Experience requirement: 5+ years

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, functions, triggers, and stored procedures in Postgre

    SQL for high‑volume enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with application and integration teams to support end‑to‑end delivery of data‑driven solutions.
  • Analyze complex datasets and data flows to ensure reliability, integrity, and accuracy across systems.
  • Lead performance tuning initiatives, including indexing strategies, query refactoring, and database optimization techniques.
  • Support data modeling activities, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and application scalability needs.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis for performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies.
  • Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and sprint planning as part of an Agile delivery team.
  • Ensure all database objects and processes adhere to agency policies, data governance standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in migration, upgrade, and modernization efforts involving Postgre

    SQL and associated data platforms.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience as a Database Developer or similar role.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise with Postgre

    SQL, including SQL, PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, triggers, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large‑scale, high-volume enterprise applications and mission‑critical data environments.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, and data modeling principles.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning, execution plan analysis, and troubleshooting complex SQL behaviors.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and collaborating on multi-disciplinary project delivery.
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication within the project team, including developers, testers, and stakeholders. Actively participate in meetings, discussions, and code reviews to ensure alignment and efficient workflow.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with ETL pipelines, data integration tools, and batch processing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and database deployment automation.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) and managed Postgre

    SQL services.
  • Experience supporting government or public sector systems.
