Job Summary
This role supports the administration, maintenance, and integration of Tarrant County College’s (TCC) cloud computing and enterprise platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 (M365), and Amazon Web Services (AWS)) and virtualization technologies. The position assists with deploying and managing applications in the cloud and maintaining physical and virtual servers and desktops. Works with network, security, and application teams to help ensure systems are reliable, issues are addressed promptly, and services meet user needs.
PrimaryDuties and Responsibilities
- Configures, maintains, and administers systems and resources across cloud computing and enterprise platforms (e.g., Azure, M365, AWS) and virtualization environments
- Maintains physical and virtual servers across on‑premises and cloud environments, ensuring system availability, reliability, and performance
- Supports and optimizes virtual desktop and server environments, proactively identifying opportunities to improve performance and stability
- Collaborates with application development, infrastructure, information security, and support teams to implement, maintain, and enhance applications and services
- Monitors system performance, security alerts, and service health; investigates issues and takes appropriate action to resolve or escalates as needed
- Troubleshoots and resolves moderately complex issues related to cloud and virtual environments, following established procedures and best practices
- Partners with identity and access management team to support and administer user accounts, roles, and access controls
- Develops and maintains technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and support materials
- Performs system maintenance activities, including patching, backups, and participation in disaster recovery planning and testing
- Assists in monitoring and optimizing cloud resource usage to support cost efficiency and performance
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the work site
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Works under the general supervision of the assigned department leader
RequiredMinimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours and five (5) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and work‑related experience
- At least two (2) year’s working experience with virtualization technologies
- At least two (2) year’s working experience using networking principles and concepts to support virtual networking
- At least two (2) year’s working experience implementing formal change control systems based on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
- At least one (1) of the following current certifications:
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) Certification
- Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300) Certification
- Microsoft 365 Copilot and Agent Administration Fundamentals (AB-900) Certification
- Omnissa Certified Administrator – Horizon (OCA-H)
- Omnissa Certified Administrator – Workspace ONE (OCA-W)
- Industry‑recognized cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) Certification)
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of networking principles and concepts, with the ability to apply them in troubleshooting and system design within enterprise environments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11 and/or Microsoft Server 2019 or later, including system administration, configuration, and maintenance
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra , Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Graph Power Shell, with ability to administer and support these services in a production environment
- Skilled in administering VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi and vCenter Server
