Industrial Dirt Equipment Operators
Industrial Dirt Equipment Operators will operate one or more pieces of construction equipment such as but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders, track loaders, skid-steers, rollers, mixers, and motor graders to move and stabilize earth. They will also be responsible for safety, equipment inspections, and possibly assisting with repairs. The position will be expected to assist other crafts in their down times which may include non-operating activities.
Qualifications- Minimum of 3 years Industrial Construction Experience
- Minimum of 2 years Industrial Journeyman Dirt Equipment Operator Experience
- Must be able to read and interpret prints, drawings and plans
- Must be able to read and interpret elevations, grade stakes and survey data
- Knowledge of Industrial Dirt Equipment Operator skills and operating abilities
- Knowledge of equipment inspection, maintenance, lubrication and regular servicing
- Must be able to meet all physical demands and pre-employment conditions
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to work up to 7 days per week and the hours necessary in order to achieve the goals of the company and the project
- Ensures all work is conducted in a safe and responsible manner
- Must comply with all company safety and personnel policies
- Performs all work tasks with the highest level of quality
- Performs job tasks efficiently to ensure that production remains on schedule
- Ensures that any unsafe acts or conditions are reported to your immediate supervisor immediately to avoid accident or injury
- Must work efficiently, productively and safely without error and consistently meet the productions goals as set by the Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager.
- Examines blue prints, sketches, building plans and specifications to determine site layout, design specifications, material required, existing underground utilities, and required excavation depths and dimensions
- Must have knowledge of the proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy construction
- Performs daily inspection of each tool or piece of equipment that they operate to ensure that the tools and equipment are safe and fit for duty; prior to utilizing the equipment
- Performs regular servicing and maintenance of equipment to ensure that each piece of equipment is fit for duty.
- Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving performance of equipment to supervision and Mason equipment managers and mechanics
- Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept cleaned, and stored in a safe manner
- Check filters and grease equipment
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers
- Properly selects and operates equipment specific to each job task
- Inspects all designated work areas for hazards and obstructions
- Uses and follows crane/equipment rigging hand signals to rig, load, transport and unload material and/or equipment
- Will operate various pieces of construction dirt equipment to move soils, aggregates and other materials in precision processes.
- Will operate various pieces of construction equipment to load, haul, transport, dump and unload specific construction materials and equipment as needed for the work scope.
- Will work closely with material delivery subcontractors and vendors to stage equipment properly for loading and unloading.
- Will communicate with material suppliers and dump truck operators to ensure safe transport, loading and dumping of materials
- Must work closely with testing laboratory technicians to effectively establish compaction of materials
- Must be able to handle and operate small tools (hammers, wrenches, and power tools) and become proficient
- Will maintain housekeeping and an orderly site as work tasks are performed
- Responsible for observing and c mplying with all safety and project rules.
- May lead Jobsite Safety Analysis (JSA) meetings
- Follows direction from supervisor
- Will provide assistance to other crafts and supervision
- Performs other duties as required
