Ironworker

UPS Industrial Services is seeking experienced and safety-focused Ironworkers to join our team in Texas City, Texas
. Qualified candidates will have experience working in industrial and petrochemical environments and possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality craftsmanship, and teamwork while supporting ongoing construction and maintenance projects.

The ideal candidate is a dependable professional with a solid understanding of structural steel installation, fabrication, rigging practices, and industrial construction procedures.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work plans to determine material requirements and installation methods.
• Safely select and operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools appropriate for assigned tasks.
• Assist with hoisting and positioning materials, equipment, and tools using cranes, bull rigging, and other approved lifting methods.
• Utilize proper hand signals and communication techniques when working with crane operators and heavy equipment personnel.
• Fabricate structural steel components and equipment according to project drawings and supervisory direction.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members using levels, transits, lasers, plumb bobs, and other precision tools.
• Connect columns, beams, girders, and other structural members using bolts and fastening systems.
• Perform bolting and torquing of structural components in accordance with engineering specifications and project requirements.
• Pull, push, pry, and position steel components for installation and final assembly.
• Cut, bend, and weld steel and iron materials using torches, metal shears, welding equipment, and related tools.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and client safety standards.
• Follow all site-specific procedures, safety protocols, and quality requirements.

• Minimum 3 years of Ironworker experience in an industrial, refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial construction environment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of structural steel erection, alignment, bolting, rigging, and fabrication practices.
• Strong awareness of industrial safety standards and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Must possess a valid TWIC Card

• NCCER Ironworker Certification or equivalent craft certification.
• Experience working on refinery, petrochemical, or industrial maintenance projects.
• Familiarity with industry-standard tools, equipment, and installation techniques.
• Previous experience performing torquing, alignment, and steel erection activities.

Candidates must successfully meet the following requirements prior to hire:

• Pass a pre-employment drug screening, including a hair follicle test.
• Pass a background check.
• Pass a physical examination and PFT/FIT test.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and attendance.
• Successfully complete any required craft or skills assessment.

• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
• Capable of climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, kneeling, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

• Environment: Industrial/plant setting with exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and perform hands-on maintenance activities for extended periods. Must meet physical requirements of the job, including lifting and climbing as needed.
• Schedule: Must be willing to work extended hours and overtime as required.
