Cost Accountant

Job Description

Our client, a growing manufacturing organization
, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team during a critical phase of operational and financial development. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who enjoys building processes from the ground up and partnering closely with manufacturing operations to improve cost visibility and control.

• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs
  , including raw materials, labor, and overhead
• Develop, implement, and maintain standard cost systems for products and processes
• Perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs; investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare detailed cost reports to support management decision‑making
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate cost data, trends, and insights
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to identify cost‑saving opportunities
• Support process building
  , including:
  • Developing and improving cycle count procedures
  • Updating and refining costing methodologies
  • Establishing processes for building materials and inventory costing
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Conduct periodic audits of inventory valuation and cost allocation methods
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities related to cost accounting

• Manufacturing cost accounting experience is highly valued and may be considered in place of formal education
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required
• Strong experience working with materials costing

• Proven ability to work in evolving environments where foundational processes are being built or improved
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
