Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client has been manufacturing steel wire products for concrete reinforcement for over 10 years. They been providing solutions to meet customers’ wire mesh needs in a very competitive market. Plant is in New Caney, Texas. By using the newest technology, they provide quality products coupled with great customer service.

An Accounts Payable Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports, maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify invoices and payment requests for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
• Enter and process invoices in the accounting system, ensuring timely payment to vendors.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
• Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, including accruals and account reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper approval and coding of expenses.

Qualifications Needed For the Role

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• One to three years’ experience in accounts payable or general accounting preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
