Overview
Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm offering accounting and consulting services to ultra‑high net worth individuals and family clients through its Family Office practice.
What You Will Do- Work closely with multiple clients providing accounting and administrative services, including general ledger maintenance, journal entry preparation and posting, monthly close coordination, budgeting, and preparation of financial statements.
- Research and resolve issues or discrepancies with client accounts, bill pay, and invoices.
- Supervise and review the accounts payable function and Family Office staff members.
- Manage and reconcile bank, brokerage, and credit card accounts; perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and analysis, including inter‑company accounts.
- Prepare year‑end 1099 reporting and assist in quarterly and annual tax packages.
- Respond to client requests and inquiries, and handle special projects as needed.
- Engage in continuous learning and cross‑training opportunities to enhance technical and professional skills.
- Network and build strong internal and external relationships with clients.
- Support team development through mentorship and the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
- Maintain a healthy work‑life balance and participate in team activities.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- CPA eligible preferred.
- One year of progressive accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office;
Quick Books experience preferred. - Strong project management and client service skills.
- Familiarity with GAAP and financial statements.
- High attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and intellectual curiosity.
- Commitment to confidentiality.
- Diverse accounting background.
- Understanding of professional services and client service.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
- Excellent organization, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle and respond to multiple client and departmental demands in a timely manner.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and manage time effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Team player who can also work independently.
The pay rate range for this position is $60,000 to $81,320. Compensation is influenced by skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, work arrangements, and location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
