Accountant, Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant

With roots from one of our parent companies dating back to 1915, Skyland Grain, LLC is a grain farmers’ co-op providing producers with the supplies and services their operations need to succeed today and in the future. We offer competitive compensation and benefits and are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant I to join our team at one of our Skyland Grain office locations.

The Accountant I position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, and supporting financial reporting and compliance activities.

• Prepare and maintain accounting records, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Record and process financial transactions accurately and timely.
• Enter daily sales and contract transactions and assist with invoicing activities.
• Support inventory and cycle count processes.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Collaborate with team members and departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
• One to three years of accounting or related experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
