Staff Accountant

Location: Montgomery

Description

Our client is seeking a strong Staff Accountant for a 4-week contract assignment. This role is fully onsite and is ideal for an accounting professional who can step in quickly, work independently, and provide immediate support during a busy period.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and complete balance sheet reconciliations

+ Post and review journal entries

+ Support the month-end close process and help ensure timely, accurate financial reporting

+ Investigate and resolve account discrepancies

+ Maintain supporting documentation and ensure accuracy of accounting records

+ Work closely with the accounting team to meet deadlines and manage priorities

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role

+ Strong understanding of general ledger accounting

+

Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close

+ Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas, pivot tables, and large data sets

+ Detail-oriented, organized, and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment
