Location: Woodville
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead all accounting and finance operations for a manufacturing facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, internal controls, compliance, and strategic financial planning while partnering closely with senior leadership to support continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all accounting and finance operations, including general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, tax, inventory, and month-end close.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and minimize risk.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely completion of all financial reporting requirements.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory transactions, payroll, and financial records for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies.
- Assist with customer contracts, billing compliance, and Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
- Develop annual operating budgets and monitor financial performance against established goals.
- Oversee capital expenditures and ensure accurate financial reporting for projects.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the accounting team while managing daily departmental operations.
- Establish departmental goals, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with operations and executive leadership to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong background in General Accounting and Cost Accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- 5+ years of Controller experience.
- Manufacturing or chemical industry experience.
- Forest products industry experience is a plus.
