Nature of Work
Location:
Kanawha County
. Professional auditing duties involving on-site examination of the accounting systems, accounts, journals, invoices, and financial records of businesses and corporations to determine the proper reporting and payment of unemployment compensation and workers compensation taxes. The incumbent may be responsible for preparing reports on an employer's financial solvency, writing and reviewing audit programs, and analyzing complex accounting transactions and reports for compliance with auditing guidelines and procedures.
Extensive travel may be required.

Required Training: Bachelors degree. (See accounting courses requirement)
To qualify you must also meet one of the following:- 24 sem hrs or 36 qtr hrs in accounting, PLUS 1 year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in accounting or auditing work.
- 21 sem hr or 32 qtr hrs in accounting Plus 2 yr experience in professional accounting or auditing
- 18 sem hr or 27 qtr hrs in accounting Plus 3 yr experience in professional accounting or auditing
- 15 sem hr or 23 qtr hrs in accounting Plus 4 yr experience in professional accounting or auditing
- 12 sem hr or 18 qtr hrs in accounting Plus 5 yr experience in professional accounting or auditing
- Masters degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
