Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly account reconciliations and maintain balance sheet supporting schedules
Record journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting
Monitor and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities
Manage and analyze construction job costs, ensuring project expenses are coded accurately and tracked against budgets
Review project financial performance and investigate cost variances
Assist with job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and contract-related accounting activities
Partner with project managers and operations teams to support project forecasting and cost controls
Prepare audit schedules and assist with annual audits and compliance reporting
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
5+ years of accounting experience, with significant experience in construction accounting required
Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, WIP schedules, and construction financial reporting
Experience working with Sage 100 Contractor
Knowledge of construction contracts, project billing, retainage, and cost tracking preferred
Strong analytical skills with the ability to partner effectively with project and operations teams
Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
