Accounting Operations Manager

Location: Gunter, TX
Schedule: Full time, In-office-to-hybrid arrangement

Choices Case Management is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our small accounting team. This is a hands-on working manager role for someone who is equally comfortable supervising staff, improving processes, and personally completing accounting work when needed.

This is a working manager position. You will supervise two Accounting Specialists while taking an active role in billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, deposits, and reconciliations. You will report to the VP of Finance and Administration and work closely with our Controller on the monthly close and accurate financial reporting.

What you’ll do

• Manage daily billing, payment posting, collections follow-up, vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments.
• Complete a share of the accounting work directly while assigning and reviewing the specialists’ work.
• Supervise, coach, and cross-train two Accounting Specialists; set priorities and ensure deadlines are met.
• Research billing and payment discrepancies and help keep information accurate between CAPS and Quick Books Online.
• Monitor receivables, support collections, and provide timely aging and cash receipt information.
• Complete or review assigned reconciliations and provide supporting schedules to the Controller.
• Maintain clear procedures, reliable coverage, and appropriate financial controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, documentation, accuracy, and efficiency, and lead implementation of approved process improvements.
• Own day-to-day accounting workflows and follow-through, proactively identifying issues and escalating matters requiring Controller or VP Finance & Administration involvement.

What we’re looking for

• Hands-on experience with billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and accounting reconciliations.
• Prior experience supervising accounting staff, including coaching employees, reviewing work, and managing deadlines.
• Strong Quick Books Online skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; candidates should be comfortable using Excel to analyze data, reconcile accounts, research discrepancies, and prepare accounting schedules.
• Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to investigate discrepancies through resolution.
• Clear communication skills and a willingness to work alongside the team.

Experience with CAPS or another case management or billing system is helpful.

$85,000-$105,000 annual, depending on experience and qualifications
