Job OverviewThe Eligibility Services Clerk II assists the Access and Eligibility Services (AES) division by providing clerical support for eligibility operations, processing mail and applications, and responding to client inquiries. The position is fully non‑telework, requires a regular daily schedule, and may involve occasional overtime.
Essential Job Functions- Attend work on a regular, predictable schedule and perform duties as assigned.
- Open, date, sort, or distribute mail.
- Prepare and proofread correspondence and forms using a computer.
- Communicate with others on a basic level to provide, verify, or exchange information.
- Maintain records, files, and logs as needed.
- Batched forms prior to data entry, assembled materials into packets, and performed data entry.
- Work occasional overtime, including weekends, as required by management.
- Operate effectively in a highly stressful, fast‑paced environment with constant deadlines.
- Knowledge of computers and internet usage.
- Ability to listen to clients, elicit, relate, and evaluate information.
- Ability to complete required work within specified deadlines.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply interrelated instructions from guidelines, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish rapport with clients and maintain effective working relationships.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in a professional customer‑service environment.
- 30 hours of college credit or 1 year of customer‑service work experience (preferred).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
- Experience using a computer for inquiry and data entry (preferred).
- The posting may be used to fill positions at other locations within the region as vacancies occur.
- Applicants selected for hire must pass a fingerprint criminal history background check and may be required to provide I‑9 documentation on the first day of work.
