Job DescriptionPrimary
Purpose:
Under direct supervision, the office assistant provides reception and clerical assistance to ensure effective operation of the campus office.
- High school diploma or GED recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a Regional Accrediting Agency.
- One (1) year of clerical experience in an office setting.
- Proficient keyboarding skills.
- Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to operate a multi-line phone system.
- Candidate must pass a satisfactory outcome of a fingerprinting background check. (Non‑refundable fee approx $50 paid by employee.)

- Greets and directs campus visitors.
- Receives and directs incoming calls, takes reliable messages, and routes to appropriate staff.
- Assists parents in checking students in and out of school.
- Receives, sorts, and distributes mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries.
- Assists with receipt and distribution of student materials, including homework requests.
- Maintains visitor log and issues visitor passes.
- Assists with preparation of materials for mailing, including preparing labels and stuffing envelopes.
- Maintains computerized files using a personal computer, including reports, employee roster, and mailing lists.
- Participates in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
- Daily attendance and punctuality at work.
- Maintains confidentiality of information.
- Corrects unsafe conditions in the work area and reports any uncorrectable conditions to the supervisor immediately.
- Complies with district and campus policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
- Complies with the standards of conduct set out in board policy and other applicable policies, regulations, and guidelines.

Multi-line phone system, computer, printer, copier, calculator, telephone, fax machine, shredder, and other applicable equipment.
Working Conditions- Works irregular and extended hours, including holidays and weekends.
- Works with frequent interruptions and maintains emotional control under stress.
- Continual sitting.
- Requires repetitive hand motions.
- May require moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
- Frequent exposure to temperature extremes, humidity extremes, noise, low or intense illumination, and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to biological hazards, work outside, work around moving objects or vehicles, and uneven surfaces.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Full‑Time
Salary$19.18 to $22.98 per hour
