Primary Purpose

Maintain accurate student attendance records at the campus level. Under direct supervision, perform data entry including attendance and other data.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
  • Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and perform word processing
  • Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance
  • Ability to meet established deadlines

Experience

  • Two years of clerical or data entry experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties Records, Reports, and Correspondence
  • Collect and enter attendance into the established database and verify accuracy according to established procedures.
  • Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.
  • Process parent and doctor notes and transmit requests for student information.
  • Call parents to verify student absences as needed and send attendance warning letters as needed.
  • Report all attendance problems to the designated administrator.
  • Prepare and print reports, including attendance, grade, roster, and other campus reports.
  • Compile, maintain, file, and distribute physical and electronic records and reports according to established procedures.

    May assist with oversight of Assistant Attendance Clerk position.

    Physical and Mental Demands

    Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

    Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

    Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

    Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

    Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours

    Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

    Position Type: Full-Time

    Salary: $16.24 to $22.43 Per Hour
