Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Automotive Painter Helper/Porter role based in Bridge City, TX. The role involves supporting automotive painters with vehicle preparation tasks such as masking, sanding, taping, and cleaning surfaces before and after painting. The Automotive Painter Helper/Porter will move vehicles in and out of the shop, maintain a clean and orderly work area, and assist with organizing tools, materials, and supplies.

Daily responsibilities may include washing and detailing vehicles, disposing of waste materials properly, and following safety procedures and shop guidelines. The role requires consistent communication with technicians and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to repair schedules.

Qualifications
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle preparation tasks, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and taping surfaces for paint.
  • Comfort with moving and positioning vehicles safely in and around the shop, including driving and parking in tight spaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work environment and tools.
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols, use personal protective equipment, and handle materials and chemicals responsibly.
  • Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to follow instructions from painters, technicians, and supervisors.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a diverse, team-focused environment.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform manual tasks throughout the workday.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; previous experience in an automotive or collision repair setting is a plus.
