Office Administrator/ Coordinator

General Description
Under the general supervision of the Office Manager, this position performs entry‑level to routine (journey‑level) clerical work, including general clerical duties, customer service, revenue collection, license and permit sales, and automated campsite registration for a State Park. Provides information to the public, accounts for daily revenue and ancillary product sales, prepares reports, processes correspondence, and performs general cleaning of Headquarters. Operates credit card machine, campsite registration computer, and license sales machine.
Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency rules, regulations and procedures. Temporary position contingent upon funding with fluctuating full‑time/part‑time hours based on operational needs.
- Perform entry‑level clerical duties and customer service
- Collect revenue and manage license and permit sales
- Operate automated campsite registration systems and credit card machines
- Prepare daily revenue reports and ancillary product sales records
- Process correspondence and perform general cleaning of Headquarters
- Provide accurate information to the public
- Comply with all agency rules, regulations, and safety programs
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of 8th grade
- No experience required
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of general office and clerical procedures
- Basic mathematics skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service skills and courteous professional manner
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels and other state agencies
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Sound and timely decision‑making
- Accurate handling of cash and revenue accounting
- Independent work with little or no supervision
- Teamwork capability
- Compliance with TPWD safety program
- Applicants ages 16 or 17 may be considered in compliance with Texas Child Labor Laws
- Position contingent upon funding, requiring 10 to 40 hours per week with varying hours
- Hours may be daytime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with peaks from March to September
- Work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions as needed
- Part‑time to full‑time status may fluctuate, affecting leave accrual and health insurance
- May require operating a state vehicle and traveling up to 5%
- Conforming to agency work rules, safety program, dress, and grooming standards
- Non‑smoking work environment
