American Eagle Ready Mix

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager – Ready Mix Concrete

Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in the daily planning, coordination, and execution of ready‑mix concrete projects from bid through delivery and project close‑out. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, dispatch, plant operations, quality control, and field crews to ensure that concrete is produced and delivered on time, in specification, safely, and within budget. The APM interfaces directly with contractors, site supers, and project stakeholders while working closely with American Eagle Ready Mix dispatch and plant teams to sequence loads, manage schedules, and resolve field issues in real time.

This position is structured as a developmental role — the Assistant Project Manager is expected to grow into full Project Manager responsibility through hands‑on experience in mix designs, scheduling, estimating, and customer management.

1. Project Coordination & Customer Management
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customers, general contractors, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle — providing responsive, professional service from pre‑bid through final ticket.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and submittals to confirm mix design requirements, delivery sequences, site access logistics, and any special placement or testing requirements.
  • Coordinate pre‑pour meetings with customers, dispatch, and quality control to align on timing, volumes, placement methods, and any site‑specific requirements before each pour.
  • Track project milestones, pour schedules, and material commitments; communicate changes proactively to all parties — including dispatch, plant managers, and the Project Manager — before they become problems.
  • Visit job sites regularly to observe pours, verify placement conditions, build customer relationships, and identify any quality or service concerns early.
  • Partner with the Project Manager to manage customer expectations, resolve disputes, and maintain long‑term customer relationships that support repeat business for American Eagle Ready Mix.
2. Estimating, Bidding & Order Management
  • Assist in preparing bids and proposals for ready mix concrete projects, including quantity takeoffs, mix design selection, pricing, freight, and coordination of credit review.
  • Enter and maintain accurate project, customer, and order information in Command Alkon and Net Suite; ensure all orders reflect current contract terms, mix specifications, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor open orders, change orders, and pour volumes against contracted quantities; proactively flag overages, scope changes, and pricing adjustments to the Project Manager.
  • Support contract review and ensure all applicable terms are correctly applied — including price escalators, minimum load requirements, fuel and environmental surcharges, and demurrage provisions.
  • Assist with bid platform submissions through Building Connected, Procore, iSqFt, or similar tools as required by customer or project specifications.
3. Dispatch & Operations Coordination
  • Work daily with American Eagle Ready Mix dispatch to sequence loads, balance plant capacity, and resolve delivery issues in real time — serving as the field‑facing operational coordinator for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with plant managers and batch operators to ensure the correct mix designs are loaded, material supplies are adequate, and plant readiness aligns with pour schedules.
  • Monitor truck status, load timing, and delivery performance during active pours; communicate directly with dispatch, drivers, and customers to keep schedules on track.
  • Partner with drivers and plant personnel to address quality, timing, or service concerns promptly, driving continuous improvement in delivery performance.
  • Coordinate with QC on mix design approvals, fresh concrete testing, cylinder break results, troubleshooting, and any customer‑requested mix adjustments — ensuring all products meet project specification requirements.
4. Financial & Administrative Management
  • Review delivery tickets, invoices, and billing for accuracy before submission; assist…
