The Union for Reform Judaism's (URJ) Greene Family Camp seeks an Assistant Director to help create exceptional summer camp and year-round engagement experiences for campers, families, and staff. As a key member of the camp's professional leadership team, the Assistant Director helps cultivate an inclusive community where every camper and staff member feels a deep sense of belonging, develops confidence and leadership skills, and builds lasting connections to Jewish life.

This role leads the camp's year-round marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts while supporting camper and staff recruitment, family engagement, and seasonal programming. Through compelling storytelling, relationship-building, and exceptional service, the Assistant Director helps strengthen awareness of Greene Family Camp, deepen connections with families and congregations, and support enrollment, retention, and community engagement.

• Partner with the camp leadership team to advance the camp's mission, support strategic priorities, and strengthen organizational culture.
• Serve as a visible leader who models Jewish values, fosters belonging, and contributes to the continued growth and success of the camp and the broader URJ Camping System.
• Help lead day-to-day camp operations and assume leadership responsibilities as needed throughout the year and during the summer season.
• Collaborate across the URJ Camping System to share best practices, participate in professional learning, and strengthen system-wide initiatives.

• Create engaging content for social media, email, websites, blogs, photography, and other communications that celebrate camp life and strengthen community engagement.
• Support pre-camp and year-round communications that keep campers, families, staff, and participants informed and connected.
• Coordinate communication lists and maintain accurate participant data using Camp Minder, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and other systems.
• Ensure communications align with URJ branding, messaging, accessibility, and communications standards.
• During the summer season, serve as Summer Communications Manager by coordinating family communications, supervising seasonal communications staff, and ensuring timely, engaging updates for camp stakeholders.

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and retaining participants, campers, and staff for summer and academic year programs. Provide tours of the camp during the summer and academic year.
• Assist with coordinating and facilitating congregational visits and home visits/parlor meetings.
• Support the creation and implementation of summer and year-round programs and retreats.
• Effectively and efficiently respond to and support campers, families, and various program participants prioritizing program satisfaction and retention. As needed, support individual families with special circumstances and accommodations.

• Foster a camp environment where every camper and staff member feels safe, supported, valued, and empowered to thrive.
• Promote a culture of belonging, well-being, accountability, and respect that reflects Jewish values and the URJ's commitment to inclusion.
• Champion inclusive practices that create equitable experiences for campers and staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Help ensure compliance with URJ policies, American Camp Association (ACA) standards, and applicable health, safety, security, and risk management requirements.
