PRIMARY PURPOSE
Assist Kids Club staff with supervising children in grades Pre-K through 5 in the after-school program, ensuring each child is well cared for and safe.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- High school student or home-schooled high school student residing within the boundaries of DSISD
- At least 15 years of age
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Ability to read and verbally communicate with children, staff, and parents
- Ability to work positively with groups of children
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Ability to relate to children and adults with courtesy, respect, compassion, and patience
Experience:
- Some experience working with children preferred
Requirement:
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. while school is in session
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assist with supervision of students and conduct age-appropriate activities for children in care.
- Ensure the safety and security of children in the building and during transitions to and from outdoor play areas.
Other
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Participate in staff development, meetings, and special events as assigned.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard classroom and office equipment; playground equipment; personal computer and printer.
Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping.
Motion: Moderate walking.
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying.
Environment: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to sun, heat, cold, inclement weather, and noise.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control and self-control in the presence of children.
