Job Role s and Responsibilities
- Lead the full estimating process from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission
- Analyze plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents to develop accurate estimates
- Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam, On Screen Takeoff (OST), Aspire, or similar software
- Prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
- Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier proposals
- Identify project risks, scope gaps, value engineering opportunities, and constructability concerns
- Develop bid summaries and project handoff documentation for operations teams
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, and preconstruction planning
- Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, vendors, and clients
- Mentor junior estimators and improve estimating processes and systems
- Monitor market pricing trends and material availability
- Assist with business development and project pursuit evaluations
- 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial landscape construction, site development, or related construction fields
- Strong knowledge of landscape installation, irrigation systems, grading, hardscape construction, and erosion control
- Experience with Aspire Landscape Software highly preferred
- Experience with Bluebeam, OST, Excel, and construction estimating software
- Strong understanding of subcontractor management, cost control, contracts, and project execution
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Experience mentoring and developing estimating team members preferred
