Role DescriptionThe Sr. Construction Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Joshua, TX. This position is responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for industrial construction projects, including reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and developing pricing for labor, materials, and equipment. The role includes analyzing subcontractor and supplier bids, coordinating with project managers and engineers, and refining estimates throughout the pre‑construction phase.
The Sr. Construction Estimator will develop and maintain historical cost data, support budget development, and participate in value engineering and risk assessments. This individual will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to clarify project scope, communicate cost drivers, and support competitive, compliant bid submissions.
- Strong proficiency in Construction Estimating and Quantity Take-offs, with experience preparing detailed estimates for industrial or commercial projects.
- Demonstrated skills in Cost Management and Budgeting, including tracking costs, developing project budgets, and supporting value engineering efforts.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers and clearly present estimate assumptions.
- Experience using estimating software and construction management tools, along with solid Excel and general computer skills.
- Several years of progressive estimating experience, ideally in industrial or heavy commercial construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
- Knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and industry standards; understanding of safety and compliance requirements.
