About the Role Introduction

The Life Safety Systems (LSS) Construction Manager manages the life safety electrical scope and its information from start to finish on large hi-tech projects, working within the construction management department and reporting to the Electrical Project Manager. This role works closely with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople to address complex electrical coordination issues, and leads onsite electrical quality control efforts including document review from preconstruction through commissioning and punch list.

The LSS Construction Manager is on the front line of avoiding and solving the technical problems that arise on fire alarm, mass notification, detection, suppression interface, and related low voltage life safety systems. This position is fully onsite at the project in Childress, TX.

Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years of electrical construction experience, including low voltage life safety systems scopes, with specific experience on industrial and/or high-tech projects.
  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or an equivalent degree and/or equivalent field work experience.
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of low voltage electrical construction, including the ability to interpret and implement installations in compliance with local authority permitting codes and site specifications.
  • Able to work fully onsite in Childress, TX, ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs, work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment, access all areas and levels of an active construction site, pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, and work in the United States without sponsorship. A valid driver's license is required.
Preferred
  • Fire alarm, mass notification, detection, and suppression interface experience on large industrial or high-tech fabrication projects.
  • Familiarity with low voltage distribution, UPS equipment, and electrical installations on large mechanical and process equipment.
  • Experience estimating low voltage electrical budgets, managing subcontractor buyout, and administering contract modifications.
  • Education background in materials and methods of construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and field practices.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a strong understanding of working within a computer network.
  • Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
  • Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
  • Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with Construction Specifications Institutes (CSI) Master Format.
  • Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.
